Coaching starts with trust.Head coach / Prague
Your progress.
My commitment.
I’m Matouš, a full-time powerlifting coach in Prague. I’ve coached 150+ athletes across 10+ countries, including multiple National and European Champions, a World Champion and a Sheffield-nominated athlete.
My approach is built on trust, accountability and attention to detail. I publish the wins, but I also review the calls that miss—because honest data is what makes the next preparation better.

Context first. Technique second. Then load.
Instagram reelDEADLIFT / START POSITION
On a stiff bar, the strongest start position matters more than maximum slack.
Forcing every last millimetre of slack can pull a lifter away from the position where they create the most force. Use only as much tension as helps you keep leverage, then optimise the start around your body and the bar in front of you.
Instagram reelTECHNIQUE / FORCE TRANSFER
The best brace is specific—not simply the biggest breath or the hardest squeeze.
Enough trunk stiffness keeps force moving from the floor to the bar. But “brace harder” cannot replace good position. Build the amount of 360° pressure your leverages and the lift require, then let that pressure support the technique.
Instagram reelBENCH / LOAD TOLERANCE
An occasional bench overshoot is information—not automatically a crisis.
Bench usually creates less fatigue and recovers faster than squat or deadlift. When frequency is already high and absolute loads are lower, a small overshoot can expose real strength without ruining the week. The point is controlled aggression, not turning every single into a max.
Instagram reelPROGRAMMING / LONG VIEW
The answer may be volume, frequency, technique, exercise choice—or simply more good work.
“Just get stronger” is only lazy advice when it ignores the route. Repeated misses reveal where strength is needed. Useful variations stay useful. The method can change, but every choice should move the same outcome forward.
